THE GREAT MOTAT STEAM FAIR

On Sunday 26 May visitors will experience an out-of-sight spectacle of steam power at MOTAT’s inaugural Steam Fair.

Set amongst MOTAT’s spectacular steam collection, which includes the beautifully restored Pumphouse and beam engine and a series of authentic steam locomotives, engines and rollers, visitors will love learning about steam power in all its forms with a series of hands-on activities and special displays.

Coal shovelling will make an appearance at the country fair-styled event, encouraging kids to put their teamwork skills to use, and kids will be able to get crafty as they make their very own goggles and ‘steam punk’ top hats to take home.

Another highlight of the day will be a costume parade, where Steampunkers, cos-players, social history aficionados and theatre-lovers will be able to show off their Victorian science-fiction outfits in a procession through MOTAT’s Victorian Village. Spot prizes will be awarded throughout the day for costume originality and creativity, so come along dressed to impress!

The Great MOTAT Steam Fair will be a celebration of all things steam. Suitable for all ages, come along with the whole family to discover the magic of steam power with MOTAT.
