Mix up a Mojito
For women wanting a fabulous new winter coat that fits them perfectly, they can now go direct to mojito.co.nz and choose from 15 different styles in three lengths, 13 vibrant colours and - here's the best part - get it individually tailored to their exact measurements. Solves that problem of not being able to find the perfect coat that doesn't make you look swamped if you're petite or just plain enormous if you're a bigger build as we all know that not everyone fits the off-the-rack 8-10-12 sizing. Whats more, buyers can customise the features of each coat according to their preferences, so if they don't like that belt, those pockets or would like to remove the shoulder or sleeve tabs, they can!
Mojito was set up by Debbie Knight, an expat kiwi who resides in Shanghai and who has stumbled upon some gorgeous cashmere fabrics and a brilliant tailor. And, best of all? It's all reasonably priced and includes an alteration rebate for those tentative sorts out there. Additional features on the website site include helpful measurement videos and photos, and freebie offers such as measuring tapes and fabric swatch cards to help customers get started.
What exactly is cashmere? Cashmere is derived from goats living in the high and dry plateaus surrounding the Gobi Desert which stretches from Mongolia to Northern China. These goats grow two coats of hair to withstand the extreme mountain temperatures; a rougher, outer coat and an inner finer, more luxurious coat. This inner luxurious coat is used for cashmere garments as it is a much softer and finer fibre.
Where is my coat made?Your coat is made in Shanghai by our tailor Jackson Xue, who runs a small family business, staffed by friends and family from his home-town of Jiangsu. Using a small business such as Jacksons means we can keep a very close eye on quality control.
Is my coat made ethically?I have personally visited Jacksons factory and can confirm that I saw no evidence of child labour or other form of exploitation. You can safely buy your coat, knowing you are helping to support a small family business.
Why are the coats made in China instead of NZ? Isnt it better to support NZ-made?I love and support many NZ-made products, however the honest truth is its cheaper to get almost anything made in China. As an expat Kiwi living in China, I have direct access to suppliers such as Jackson who can make your coat for much less than it would cost to buy retail in NZ. These savings are passed onto you, the customer.
