Nice pear
I don't know about you, but as some one who went from having no bust to having a healthy D cup overnight as a teenager, the process of buying a bra has always been something to avoid at all costs.
Unlike my smaller friends I went straight past the sizes where they make pretty, delicate, funky, looking bras and straight to the practical, supportive looking things you'd expect to see on your grandmother's washing line. I have secretly always held the suspicion that there is a group of small evil women out there plotting away at how to make our bras uglier as payback for being better endowed. Have you ever tried to find a 10E bra? Let alone one that doesn't scream I have no fashion sense and am more interested in function over form? It's quite impossible.
Avokado, owned by Claire Long and her husband, is here to change the tide on this particular battle. The Ruakaka couple have moved their successful business, along with their family, down to Newmarket in order to provide a most welcome selection of swimwear, lingerie, and maternity wear to the larger busted members of the city.
I was personally more then just a little impressed with the stock, it seems like such a simple thing to some, but the idea of actually being able to find a bikini that fits, or a bra in a colour that isn't white, black or nude is a complete novelty to some of us - not only that but in a wide range of sizes, styles, and brands with friendly staff who really know their stuff? I hand to pinch myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming. No more settling for second bust - I mean, best; this is the must visit shop for anyone with a healthy bust.
Watch out you small things - regardless of our size or shape we can now all finally be guaranteed a shopping experience that won't leave us traumatised. Aaaah Avokado. I feel so supported.
