Bonds goes sky high

With what must be the highest-waist pants in Auckland, Bonds went sky-high this Wednesday 27 August taking its new Hi-Top pants up the Sky Tower. Some brave media even took the Sky Walk outside at 1000 feet - well done nzgirl's Anya and Ramarea- although we stayed firmly inside and ate the brunch looking at pants and bras instead.

The idea behind the high altitude pants showing was that Bonds are trumpeting the return of the Hi-Top. While hipster is still a strong trend for young girls, the fashion of high waisted trousers and jeans with its retro 1970s sensibility has harked a return to The Waist in lingerie as well. Slightly reminescent of the big knicker, Bridget Jones would love these updated versions, with strong branding on the Bonds elastic waistband -a good 6cm higher than before- and fun stripes in a boy leg or brief style.

You can mix and match the pieces across the range in stripes, floral, crayola brights and even the first ever glow-in-the-dark pant.

Bonds summer range retails from $8.99 to $29.99 and is available from The Warehouse, selected Postie Plus and leading independent stores nationwide.
