The worm has turned

Silkworms are amazing creatures. Silk fibre is biodegradable, earth-friendly and pesticide-free- and made into pure silk boxer shorts the comfort of the end result is amazing and worth all the effort those hard-spinning little worms go to.

New Zealand clothing brand Silkbody has released its men's boxer shorts made entirely from 100% silk, a fabric that's comfortable and itch-free. The boxers are odour-resistant, fast drying and offers natural climate control for your body, absorbing 30% moisture without feeling damp. The boxers are available in both Khaki and Black, sizes S-XXL and retail for $59.00.

We had a man test-run the silk boxers and gave them a few washes in a trial. Our tester said,"They felt light and soft to wear. They're a good fit, and the silk felt comfortable and breathable. I like that they're 100% silk." The boxers washed well and kept their shape.

So applause for those silkworms in their production, and for Silkbody in construction, of their boxers, in a sustainable fashion project. Women will be wanting their own pairs, too.
