MotorStorm® Pacific Rift welcomes you to the island, a tropical paradise deep in the heart of the pacific. This new racing location is a place of contrasts, with huge towering peaks, soaring over thick sweaty lowland jungles. Flaming volcanoes spewing ash over blackened deserts and rolling great blankets of lava down through forest and swamp to sandy beaches and the azure sea. The island is a place of beauty, but also a place of danger. Abandoned by man for over forty years since the last great eruption, this is the perfect place to bring the racing extravaganza that is the MotorStorm festival. Race through humid swamps and thick forest, plough through deep river, leap huge waterfalls and singe your paintwork in the furnace of the volcanic wastelands.

Not just pretty backdrops to the action, these environments take centre stage in challenging players with everything in Mother Nature’s arsenal. Thick mud, tangled undergrowth, swift flowing rivers, choking volcanic clouds and searing lava pools all test the drivers to their limits and beyond.

Using the power of PLAYSTATION®Network, 12 players can race head-to-head online and, for the first time in the series, racers can hit the gas in four-player split-screen mode. Not to mention Trophy support which will allow players to boast about their brutal off-road racing skills.

All of the vehicle classes from the first MotorStorm are back: ATVs, RALLY CARS, BUGGIES, MOTORBIKES, RACING TRUCKS, MUDPLUGGERS and BIG RIGS – as well as the newly arrived Monster Truck that can climb, sprint and roll over any other vehicle in their way.
