MOTAT offers free entry for a toy

MOTAT is helping Kiwis get into the Christmas spirit with its offer of free entry into MOTAT in exchange for a children’s gift.

MOTAT is supporting the Child Cancer Foundation and The Salvation Army through its annual toy drive, which sees hundreds of visitors pass through MOTAT’s gates for free from 01 – 24 December, in return for the donation of a child’s toy. The toys donated are divided equally between the Child Cancer Foundation and The Salvation Army, which distribute them to their drop-in centres in the Auckland region.

“We see our Christmas at MOTAT programme as a fantastic opportunity for kids to learn about giving to those less fortunate than themselves,” says Angela Willis , Marketing Manager for MOTAT.

The toys can be of any value and MOTAT’s shop has a wide selection of boys, girls and family gifts if visitors are not able to go shopping in advance. The only guidelines are to ensure toys are new, wrapped, and the age and gender of the intended receiver is included.

In exchange for the generous donations received, MOTAT has a number of activities running throughout December, including a Christmas card display in the Walsh Memorial library. You can also enjoy MOTAT’s new Victorian Christmas display ‘Colonial Goose’ and the exciting new exhibition ‘Top Secret: Licence to Spy’.

Celebrate the jolly season at MOTAT and bring a little bit of Christmas cheer to those less fortunate.
