DIY Stitch 'n' Bitch
The Alt Craft phenomenon has spread its influence far and wide. Now, Annah.S has released a DIY home sewing kit called Stitch ‘n’ Bitch so you can create your own dress at home from pre-cut patterns and fabric pieces.
The Annah.S collection will feature four key Stitch ‘n’ Bitch garments: Star Cami $85, Milli Vanilli Crop Cardi $70, Fine Romance Wrap Skirt $210, and Gigi Wrap Dress $250 complete with fabric, trims, easy-to-follow instructions and detailed coloured photos. The pieces seem to be chosen for their ease of home construction; a wrap dress doesn't have to be expertly fitted by a tailor and a cardi will suit every body type.
At $250 for a dress, it's not the cheapest option for home dressmakers who already know how to sew. But that's not the point; it is aimed at the party idea of getting together with girlfriends to do something creative that perhaps they don't know how to do, and where they - without a pre-cut kit - wouldn't know where to start. Whilst it won't be a highly original piece, perhaps this will provide the impetus to create a unique piece at the next stitch and bitch gathering?
Here's the Stich 'n' Bitch kit with instructions and numbered pieces.

The DIY Stitch 'n' Bitch kits are produced in time for Christmas gifts in a limited edition at www.annas.co.nz. Pink ladies, get stitching.
