Sarah and Stevie check out the fashion at Ellerslie's Melbourne Cup Day where hot pink seemed to be the hot tip off the track and umbrellas came in handy as a fashion statement due to Auckland weather...

Fashion was at its best (and sometimes not its best) on Tuesday November 3rd at Ellerslie Racecourse in Auckland for Melbourne Cup Race Day.

Eye-catching headpieces on the ladies and smashing suits on the men were all a part of their annual celebrations of the Melbourne Cup.

Our fashion tip? Look out for hot pink this season, a colour that will make any cloudy day a bit brighter.

Featured at the Ellerslie racecourse were eight matching girls, dressed beautifully in blue, promoting France’s number one champagne, Nicolas Feuillatte. These girls were clear head-turners at the racecourse and did not fail to impress the crowd.

The slightly overcast weather allowed only more of a fashion statement, as women pulled out lace umberellas and sat happily beside the track, where they were able to witness the action up close. Go girls!
