DimitySO good

Whenever the question of lingerie is bought up, there are always the comments about ‘lacking’ in the chest department. Always the wishing for more… this seems like such an obvious desire for those of you ‘smaller chested’ girls. Why wouldn’t you? A larger chest always seems so sexy, and there are people who pay large amounts of money to be surgically enhanced to fulfil that particular fantasy.

But for those of us who are more naturally endowed, it is not quite the picnic it seems. I was a 10DD before I even 16, and I got very used to the male of the species talking to my chest rather than my face rather early on. The biggest torture for me was always the whole lingerie buying/wearing thing. It was always the most boring and practical of bras on offer in my youth, never anything gorgeous, flimsy or even vaguely pretty. Think underwired sports bras, which only even seemed to come in natural coloured cotton. Moving to the UK for my OE was a revelation. I could walk into stores and actually buy off the rack and I was an impressive 10F by this point!

I would have done ANYTHING to have had a label like DimitySo by Bendon. Hallelujah – salvation for the beautifully endowed woman has arrived.

I was positively dizzy looking through the racks at PR showroom Lily & Louis at all the items of lingerie they had displayed.

Sexy and eclectic is the DimitySO kind of girl according to the charming Jacqui Anson from Lily & Louis, and it shows. The gloriously sexy lacy number with pleated tulle knickers, a pretty much perfect tulle bodysuit (with snaps - why is it that people always leave those things out, then you have to struggle out of the thing by climbing out of it? Makes no sense to me.) Camisoles, briefs, thongs, slips, playsuits, chemises are all ‘covered’ (as it were!)

The colours are greys, peach florals, soft blues, dark mocha, basic (but always fabulous) black, white and ivory.

There is a colour to suit just about any tastes, and finally, to suit just about any size (as long as it is D – J). The styling is simple and sexy.

At last the tables are turned and you lovely small-breasted girls will be wanting something else we have – DimitySO. Only for the beautifully endowed...

Below: a DJ (as opposed to cup size D-J!) plays at the launch.

Anya Brighouse and Helene Ravlich.

Beauty Editor Tamsin Marshall brought gorgeous baby Coco along.

Giant yellow posters displayed quotes from the three 'faces' of DimitySO. Below, the quote from the rockabilly hipster, Drea, cup size 8DD, talking about her personal style, brings personality to the brand.

On the upstairs level, a house was created to represent the DimitySO woman.

DimitySO is available through Bendon stores and stockists in 2010.
