Qi Glow … & then there were three
The most recent innovation to hit The Langham Hotel came as an abundance of gold from Australia as Qi beauty launched their exquisite signature facial in the Langham's Chuan Spa. Using the nutrients of gold, magnetic stimulation, and ancient acupuncture, the Qi beauty facial is quickly redefining the meaning of opposites attract.
Kathy Pedersen, creator of Qi beauty, realized that at fifty, women are faced with possibly the most significant decision to be made in their mature life... to Botox or not to Botox?
This is a question haunting the minds of women (and men) when the crows feet and naso labial folds appear. Women had only two options, bite the bullet and succumb to cosmetic procedures or 'age gracefully'. Recognising the need for a realistic alternative to Bridgitte Bardot or Sophia Loren, Kathy continuously asked herself, 'Are there really only two options?'
She decided there would be three. Kathy developed the Qi beauty system based on everything pre-existing anti ageing treatments didn’t have; the art of ancient Chinese acupuncture, the nutrients of pure gold and the power of magnetic energy to stimulate the deeper levels of the skin.
"The Chinese have been using acupuncture meridians for centuries to combat the signs of ageing; there is nothing new about the theory behind Qi beauty. The only difference is that now ancient Chinese techniques are accessible. Qi beauty is the natural, realistic and maintainable answer to skin beauty."
The evolution of Qi beauty began as a vague idea of what would work, and what women needed. Kathy focused on the outcome that women wanted; less lines. The Qi beauty patch system was the first product to be launched. Using specific acupuncture points, women used the patch system to treat themselves to a 12 hr treatment as they slept. The results spoke for themselves.

However, Kathy wanted to do more for her clients, she wanted to give results faster and in abundance, and so the Qi beauty facial (Or MING at the Langham) was born. Clients could now experience their skin transforming in a one hour treatment, using the patch system as their personal Qi stash for special occasions. Qi beauty transformed the meaning of a facial into an exquisite creation of ancient art and modern knowledge.
Where the patch system allows 12 gold magnets to work together activating the deeper layers of the skin improving its appearance with each use, the facial heightens the stimulation with 1000 gold magnets contouring the face, always paying special attention to areas of most concern to the patient.
Since its launch in 2004 Qi beauty now has a complete skincare range to maximize the effects of the facial, especially at home. The collection reflects Qi beauty's signature facial, including the Qi Spritz, infused with one of the world's richest gold oils, pure Sea Buck Thorn, leaving the skin with a golden glow. The Qi Glow.
