Glam metal rocks!

Glam metal rocks!

Heavy metal has nothing on these metallics that will rock 'n roll on your fingertips and lips. Catch the light, and more than a wandering eye or two, with these new releases for the glitter-arty...

The stunning new Lancome 'O My Rose' 2010 colour collection - designed by expat Kiwi make-up artist Aaron de Mey - packs a punch to nails with two shining examples. With light and darkness, let your hands play angels or demons with Le Vernis Golden Silver Sand 003 Limited Edition nailpolish, a clear varnish with silver glitter, vs Deep Water Green 014, an almost black. I found the Silver Sand shade was a real eye-catcher when I wore it to a Christmas party and it had incredible staying power. Summed up in one word: metal.

L'Oreal Paris have added deep black colours to their Resist and Shine nail enamel range in a new collection of five colours, called "Black Gloss." Pictured above: brown black and ruby black which have tiny shimmering lights in an intensely deep colour base ($14.99). These are my favourite nail varnishes yet with a car paint-esque gloss and chromed-up shine like a newly-polished Harley. In a word: rock.

With an extremely thick and juicy formulation and intense colour saturation, L'Oreal Paris Glam Shine 6H Volumizer lip gloss ($29.99) has shine in spades. With a new replumping effect, the lip glosses are unsurprisingly represented by va va voom lips herself, Eva Longoria, who wears her fave shade 206 Fuschia Obsession. In a word: pop.

Head banging to Bohemian Rhapsody mussing your do? Don't stress your tresses. Giovanni Organic Shine of the Times ($25.50) is a silicone finishing mist to shroud you in not only a veil of mystery but a haze of shine, all the while smoothing and de-frizzing. It helps reduce friction and static with a silky finish and sheen, with certified organic botanical ingredients and a pump non-aerosol recyclable bottle. In a word: glam.
