FASHIONATION 2010 comes to NZ

Fashionation, an international fashion show focusing on young designers from all over the world brings its celebration of culture to Christchurch on 14 January 2010.  Christchurch Town Hall will host the show displaying the works of designers from Chile, Colombia, Indonesia, Norway, and the Netherlands. The show is the result of a project started by Fardiyah Dickie focusing on bringing together and encouraging the development of young designers from all over the world.

“The fashion world can be very exclusive and transport a lot of pseudo messages. For me it is important to share our art and the unique multicultural environment that fashion can create,” says Dickie. Fardiyah at 22 is herself a young designer and entrepreneur based in Oslo, Norway. She began her project at the age of 16, while still a design student, by organizing the first Fashionation show in Innsbruck, Austria, where she brought together designers from all
corners of the world and introduced her own label F.I.D.

Fashionation was conceived as an experiment to bring together young designers, and to produce a show celebrating creativity and joy. The idea is to connect talents from all corners of the world, and to create a show celebrating life and human diversity.

Fashionation was an event created for the last Subud World Congress at Innsbruck by fashion designer Fardiyah Dickie, now of Oslo, Norway. At the upcoming Congress in Christchurch, Fashionation will feature for a second time, and promises to be even more spectacular than the previous one.

Bubbling with inspiration, young designers are already creating their lines for the upcoming show, which will also feature graphic visuals and performers. Designers, stylists, dancers and musicians are invited to become a part of this truly global production that will come together as one of the most memorable highlights of the World Congress ahead.
