Country grunge for Winter

Country grunge for Winter

Winter 2010 trends are interpreted as "Country Grunge" and "Warrior Princess" by fashion and accessories buyers at The Warehouse, they announced at the range showing yesterday.

Key trends are so much heavy metal on garments, Fashion Buyer Eva joked it would set off metal detectors at airports.

The Garage and Rachel customer has the most disposable income available after the recession and is shopping it up large. So they're taking advantage of this, with glamour and sequins adding sparkle galore. Sequins show up on trim and covering entire miniskirts.

Replacing last year's leggings look is over-the-knee boots worn with very short skirts - for those with the legs to carry this off.

Biker jackets and shoulder pads and tight denim leggings continue the eighties trend.

Our favourite pieces were a floral bomber jacket and flowery leggings.

Mannequins display the various fashion stories from Garage below. Black and grey predominated.
