Emma Highfield of www.emmahighfield.com is running an Emerging Lingerie Design competition and seeking entries from designers.

Emma holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Elam School Of Fine Arts (Auckland University) and is now a costume and headpiece designer based in Auckland.

Miss Lingerie Model NZ is an annual event on the fashion calendar, recognised for showcasing New Zealand’s most innovative lingerie designers, lingerie models, hair and makeup artists, musicians, and creative talent.

For the first time, Miss Lingerie Model NZ is opening its doors to creative up and coming designers in the search for New Zealand’s new Miss Lingerie Model Emerging Designer.

THE COMPETITION:

Designers are challenged to create a unique and innovative lingerie set with emphasis on construction, stage impact, and overall design concept.

Entrants are to produce a lingerie set consisting of 1 under-wire bra or bodice, bottoms, and one additional accessory, which can include; a garter/suspender belt, headpiece, girdle or neckpiece, but not limited to.

To allow designers total creative control entries are not limited to any specific theme but must exude a consistency in design across all pieces.

Designers are encouraged to create a work of art that pushes the boundaries of contemporary lingerie design.

The winning entrant, as selected by the judges, will go on to produce a 15 piece collection to be showcased at the Miss Lingerie Model New Zealand Final Show in Auckland on July 30th 2011. This collection will be based on a specific show theme (to be announced), however creative freedom is of the utmost importance.
