Costume dramas
With Armageddon looming this weekend in Hamilton at Claudelands on 14th & 15th April, and Wellington at the TSB Arena on 21st & 22nd April, we thought we would remind you just how much fun it is with photographs of the best costumes from Armaggedeon 2011 in Auckland.
The photos were taken over the weekend (28th-31st October) and they are just all part of the fun of the event.
In our house, planning for costumes pretty much starts the day after the previous event has finished! One of the costumes this year took most of the year to complete – we will put that one last as we loved it so much. That is definitely commitment to the cause.
It just wouldn’t be Armaggedeon without a plethora of Star Wars characters. Left: Clone Trooper (with Poppy Fill) and below, more Star Wars – this time, Luke and Leia.

Esther Blanchett, a character from Trinity Blood.
A fabulous costume that was just made especially for the day – one of our favourites – we spotted her on the way in and spent most of the day trying to find her again…

This is the character “No Face” from the Studio Gibli film “Spirited Away” with another of their characters, “Totoro” from “My Neighbour Totoro” (Madeleine Brighouse)

The X Men super villain – Mystique.

The 11th Doctor (really Riley Brighouse) and his unusual companion, a Jawa from Star Wars (really Theodore Brighouse)

And our absolute favourite of the day – Mewtwo from Pokemon. This costume took most of the year to make – and the detail was just incredible! Eilish, we salute you – you are a master craftsman.
