A turn up for the looks
The ECCO new Autumn/Winter 2012 range was inspired by 60s Scandinavian furniture, natural colours - including ubiqutous black of course but also a gorgeous olive leather and burgundy - and softer, rounded silhouettes.
Thread's favourite of the season is ECCO Lakota (RRP $469), a black wedge heel boot with a black knit upper. I like the traditional, almost clog-like rounded wooden heel, that is actually modeled on their old shoe lasts from their archives. So, you get a traditional look, with the latest technology.
Lakota can be worn with the woolly upper worn upright, as pictured left, or turned downwards:
I can vouch for how extremely comfortable it is. Like all ECCO shoes, the pitch and shape is perfectly designed to fit your foot and wearing a wedge this high feels as good as a flat!
Another top pick is the ECCO Slight (RRP $429) in walnut/espresso leather, for a country girl folk-singer look. Guitars optional.
There's a variety of options for dressier looks and work boots too, such as the ECCO Leticia (RRP $349), a black patent bootie, and ECCO Lulea (RRP $459) grape leaf leather wedge boots.
Stylist Lulu Wilcox says “They look good but I also know that practically all of my readers will be able to wear them, they won't be too high or over the top. Plus there are options for formal and casual which works well,” says Lulu.
ECCO’s Scandinavian heritage - a family business started in 1963 - reflects their unique design principles. Their footwear truly combines contemporary looks with traditional quality, and, last but not least - great comfort.
