Hair X Auckland, Monday 4th June 2012
Three interpretations of REMIX Editor Tina Moore's brief "Modern Cleopatra" were created on-stage by three stylists at Hair X in Auckland.
The REMIX Editorial Seminar gave a glimpse into how editorial hair is created for magazines, fashion shows and photographic work. BLAZE salon's Mana Dave MCd as we watched the prepped work completed by three stylists Michael Beel of Buoy, Leonie Nicholls of Vada and Spanish freelance editorial stylist, Miguel Lledo.
Below: M.A.C Cosmetics make-up artist Sam explained that the three models have similar - not identical - makeup following the Modern-day Cleopatra brief.

Leonie Nicholls showed us how she created the flat-top bun on a short-hair model by wrapping real hair extensions around a hairpin canister to create a bun mould.
Below: Models with the finished hairstyles show how three diffrent stylists can create three such different looks from the same brief.
This is only a brief peek at the hair, but Thread can't wait to buy the REMIX September issue and see how they photographed and styled the hair for the magazine. Well done REMIX and Michael Beel, Leonie Nicholls, and Miguel Lledo.
