Stop your crying
No, it's not the sound of crying but an exclamation, as giant, affordably-priced UK fashion e-tailer Boohoo.com has launched in New Zealand with free deliveries and a NZ dedicated shopping site in NZ dollars.
The retailer - which has its own brand rather than selling other labels - grew rapidly from a staff of three to over two hundred now. It is based in Manchester, England, with in-house styling, warehouse and offices all based on-site.
So, why the launch here? Boohoo has always delivered to New Zealand, but had observed growth in their deliveries here so decided to make the shift to free shipping to NZ and local returns. This means that to return an item that wasn't right, you only pay the cost of a courier in NZ, rather than back to the UK.
They will be launching a new trend each week, so there's always something fresh to keep an eye peeled out for.
Boohoo had 3,000 Facebook Fans in NZ in just twelve days. They'll give daily style advice and offer exclusive competitions and discounts to local Fans.

We enjoyed guitarist Kriston Batistich singing at District Dining for today's NZ launch.
Tables at District Dining were decorated with Boohoo shoes and handbags filled with blooms. Guests had individual name cards so it was like a wedding; but a wedding where everyone was the bride- and fashion was the groom. Well, perhaps not quite, but at least a hot date.
In a cool update of the Powerpoint presentation, we got to actively create it ourselves, with a live Twitter feed screen. Got to love the democratization of new media extending to event launches. How post-modern.
