Weird and wonderful
You think you know penguins? Seen sharks?
Well, you need to get along to the oddities of the underwater world, at the current 'Weird and wonderful' season on at Kelly Tarlton's.
We checked it out today...
Below: I put my hand into the pool of Glass Shrimps that nibble on your skin.
Sadly the water was too cold for them to be hungry, the attendant told me, when I was there so I missed out on having an underwater manicure.

Thumb splitters (Mantis Shrimp) so-called as their claws snap unsuspecting fishermen. They are aggressive predators.

And even leeches! Relax, you don't get to touch these.

We particularly liked the incredible markings on the Aussie native on display; the Wobbegong sand shark.

Feeding sting rays was something I'd rather NOT do, thanks.

Feeding the penguins looked fantastic, though.

The clownfish slide was a big hit with school holiday kids.

The Octo-Squeeze and giant model turtle.

So, for something weird and definitely wonderful, get along to Kelly Tarlton's!
